Well, the process of bike racing isn’t really complicated. First, you need a bike. Then you need some basic bike stuff: gloves, helmet, spandex shorts, bike shoes and pedals (clipless), and a jersey.
Before you start racing, you should be in decent shape, but when you are first starting, it isn’t a bad thing to go do a race, and just see how you like it.
So, go down to a local bike shop, and see if they have any race registration sheets sitting out. They usually do. To register it will cost about $25 or so.

American Bicycle Association – Go to ABA.com – their web site has all the info. From finding a track close to you, to what you need etc… If they dont list a track close to you try NBL.com.
Check your local bike shops they probably have a team formed and those guys are the best! They are a wealth of knowledge and experience as well. good luck!
cost for racing at your local track usually runs $10 for races and $5 to practice. As for the racing pants, jersey,$150 new for both.A-s for a helmet, always by new. A full faced helmet costs around $75-$150. well good luck and let me know about
