Hi,

I see a cycling like gym equipment in a Gym and I do not know what exactly is it called, it got paddles like a bicycle and 6 options to choose from like heart rate, strength, manual, Rx, Etc..

It also got an adjustable sit.

I would like to know what is that equipment called and how to configure it for using because whenever I tried using it , I never felt any exertion and it was easier than driving a bicycle in real life…no pressure required which I think would be required if one configures the equipment properly

Thanks
Thanks Jen, I tried resistance to be 9 but it is still easy..for me.no pressure is required by legs at all..could it be because the cycle malfunctioning ?

to the other guy, I **** one line answers, and there is no Gym instructor at all.

Why guessing and not asking the trainer in the gym?

most gym-bike machines have the same start up method… adjust the seat to your comfortable settings, sit down, start peddling and the screen will prompt you with instructions (ie choose program, enter weight, time)

if you’ve done all that and are still finding it too easy, then increase the resistance… use the “manual” program, and you can use the arrows to increase or decrease resistance during your exercise

What you are talking about is called a “Spinner.” They sort of resemble typical exercise bikes but have little or no resistance. These are not for resistance training, though they do have a dial that allows you to vary the resistance slightly. The idea is to raise your heart rate by getting on and basically pedaling as fast as you can for as long as you can. Most gyms offer spinning classes where you vary the intensity of the workout according to the instructor. It’s a great workout and can be a lot of fun, especially in a class. Give it a try. If you like it, you’ll need some cycling shoes that actually clip to the pedals so you don’t slip off while you’re spinning. Good luck!
