Is there a safe way to ride my bike with my dog?

I think it would be really fun to ride my bike (slowly!) with my doggy jogging beside me… he loves to be walked, and to run while he’s being walked, and I love to bike ride. But, I’m scared he will jump up to grab at his leash and get hurt, or get caught in a wheel. Are dogs generally good when you walk them while riding a bike?? Or is there a safety device I can get?

It’s going to be kinda hard, but you should at least get a leash with a lot of slack.

if the dog isnt reasonable and is always jumping and loves to run and hates to heel, then dont. teach him heel first.

That;s a very dangerous idea – all of the things you describe could happen – and more.
Better would be to get a doggy basket and put your dog in it in front of your handlebars. Make sure he is comfortable and secured so he can’t just up, then take him with you in safety and comfort.
