Posted by Art on Jul 22, 2010 in Biking

It is always hard for us to look for the perfect helmet cycling we need especially if we have thousands and thousands of designs and different models to choose from. Helmets are mainly use as a head gear for protection from injuries when we are cycling. Even if the most fundamental function of our helmets is just for protection, we still want to be comfortable and look cool in it. Helmets should be also created not only to provide protection, but to give us the utmost comfort without looking awkward.

Because it is really hard to find a really nice and comfortable helmet, sometimes we have to suffer our stinky head after using the helmet. The stink is due to sweat from our heads we produce during cycling. Helmets should be manufactured to secure your safety and comfort and helmets that make our heads stink is not comfortable at all.

Most of these ‘not so comfortable’ helmets are usually cheaper than those which offer real protection and comfort. These quality helmets are really costly but they are manufactured with excellence we just really need our helmets to have.

Lucky for us Giro has made a new advanced technology for us. Giro is one of the leading providers of our high-performance cycling gears and accessories. Giro has released its latest Giro Ionos Helmet which offers the protection and safety we have been longing for the last few decades. The Ionos Technology is particularly used to create the most ventilated and complex road cycling helmet. The Ionos Helmet is very light in weight, elegant in appearance, and comfortable in class.

The Giro Ionos Helmet is very comfortable since the makers amde it from a modified shapes of their previous models to create a better fit for the cyclists. It is also very light because carbon fibers are utilized for the helmets but it is still has high resistance.

The Ionos Helmet also comes in an elegantand presentable design which we will surely adore. It also gives an In-Mold Composite Sub Frame to provide ‘structural support and resistance to penetration’. And it also made with an X-Static cushion to provide comfortable padding when worn.

The most remarkable feature of the Giro Ionos Helmet is the cooling system generated in every helmet. There are 21 vents created in it to provide self-contained ventilation throughout the helmet. The cyclists’ heads are provided with 15% cooler air which passes through these vents. The cooling system provided by the Ionos Helmet is, by far, the epitome of high quality helmets produced by Giro.

If we talk just about quality, the Giro Ionos Helmet has really exceeded the expectations of the bike users, especially the professional cyclists. We can check reviews and features over the internet to make sure that the Ionos Helmet really passes the standards.

Even if it is a bit pricey, it is still better to provide ourselves proper protection and comfort which why we use helmets in the first place. No matter how cheap the other brands and models are, we should always remember that safety and comfort definitely come first.

Comparing The Two Kinds Of The Bicycle Baby Carrier

Posted by Art on Jul 22, 2010 in Biking

Taking your child and bonding with them is really good. Taking them for a joy ride on your bikes is fun. In that way, you can let your child see the real world and things since children can learn a lot of things from what they see. So, biking with them makes sense. It is  fun if you take your child along with you on a bike ride, making them as your co-pilot, letting them decide which way to go and letting them ask questions about things. You can also talk and sing with them while riding.

Biking with your kids also aids your child in getting acquainted with the neighborhood, as exposing your child to the outside world makes a lot of sense too. It is also a good form of exercise for you as well.

Child seats and bicycle baby carrier do the job for keeping your child safe with you. For your biking, safety and comfort must be the first things on your mind. Now, there are lots of versions of baby seats for bicycles. You can choose among the rear child seats and front child seats. But, there are things to be taken into account so that you can land on something comfortable regarding which kind of baby seats you are going to use.

There are also pros and cons among these two types of seats. Parents are all looking forward to more comfortable biking. Positioning your child in the bike is based on your preference.

Both traditional rear-mounted seat and the front bicycle baby carrier for the bicycle have their own way in giving both the parent and the child a good biking experience.

The traditional rear seat is really cool and already tested. With your child on your back, it is much safer for them in events like a crash. As years go by, manufacturers had developed a good rear type carrier with ideas which were gathered from the problems encountered. They provided a rear type with the best safety and biking features. It has a harness to keep the child intact in the seat, a good side support with cushions to keep the child safe from bumps, a good padded seat for a softer and smoother ride, and some hard frames for back support with cushions. It also has foot supports and belts to keep the feet of the child from the spokes of the tires, an extra handle in front of the seat, just like the ones you can find in roller coasters. Plus, it is easy to mount.

The front bicycle carrier is an innovative child carrier seat designed to improve the safety, comfort and enjoyment of the family bike ride. The front child carrier is placed to a more forward position than the traditional back seat. This simple change in the bike’s position provides better weight distribution. And, when your arms take hold of the handle bars, it will be soon at your protective position. It is also easier when there are sudden changes in directions because you remain focused and the child’s attention is up front. This way, your child can also see everything at all times. Emergencies can be taken cared of very easily as the front child carrier seat also has cushion supports in front. So, when the child gets tired or sleepy he or she can just rest on it.

You must not forget about safety measures. Always wear a helmet when you are biking with your child.

Getting Better Strength To Ride Trek Mountain Bikes

Posted by Art on Jul 22, 2010 in Biking

Mountain biking is synonymous with sometimes dangerous but exhilarating biking trails that can range from cliff-face climbing to pastoral countryside and open farmland. The environmentally friendly and health inspiring qualities of mountain biking mean that everyone is a winner. The mountain bike industry is also behaving responsibly to the environment – Trek mountain bikes are made in a carbon-neutral factory.

It’s perfectly true that mountain bikers themselves need to keep their integrity too. Keeping healthy means that riders are able to manage the sometimes tricky trails that they deliberately seek-out. Whilst those riders who use Trek mountain bikes for example, will no doubt have the staying power to complete difficult trails, it’s equally important to maintain physical power as well.

Body weight and physical strength is important to mountain bikers because it enables them to take better control of situations they may come across when riding. This enables them to train their reactions quickly and positively when the unexpected comes their way and ‘stay loose’.

There are many ‘bodyweight exercises’ that can be undertaken to achieve improved physical strength, the easiest and simplest being push-ups and pull-ups. However, following a properly worked out and regular routine can do more for the aspiring rider of Trek mountain bikes than simply doing these basic moves.

Taking the advice of a fitness instructor is a good idea, and there are numerous books on the subject from recognised mountain biking professionals like John Metcalfe. Large brands like Trek have World Racing teams that mountain bikers can follow to see how the professionals train and prepare.

Being the owner of a bike like those from the range of Trek mountain bikes is quite something, however, learning to be fit to enjoy riding it is quite another.

Mens Mountain Bike – Is There Actually A Necessity For A Women’s Version?

Posted by Art on Jul 22, 2010 in Biking

So I was recently reading a question about what the difference is between a mens mountain bike and a women’s mountain bike. Several people answered the question about this thing being a little different and that thing being a little bit different, etc. You know things like the handlebars, parts on the frame, grips, brake levers, etc. But one answer made a lot of sense. It said that most women would ride a mens mountain bike since the differences are subtle and there are a lot more choices and a wider choice of mens mountain bike versus women’s mountain bikes.

This totally made sense to me. Maybe at one time it might have made sense to make a more ‘girly’ bike for women, but even if these types of bikes currently exist, they don’t truly need to anymore. Women now days are every bit as competitive as most men and their physical agility, strength and dimensions are close to and match men in many regards. So why the necessity for two different types of bikes?

Sure, there are some women who are smaller than men, but in the same vein, there are a lot of men who are smaller than many women. In those cases, each of these people who are smaller in general will need to look for a bike that fits their individual size. The same for those that are bigger.

So it seems to me, that making bikes in different sizes to match the size of their rider is more important than trying to separate out the sexes. It’s time in our society and in our current environment to drop that separation. I think it would be much smarter for the mountain bike manufactures to focus on making bikes that are designed for different sized people, large, small, light, heavy, etc. That way you can have many different models in many different dimensions that will meet the needs of all people, no matter their sex.
