Biking
There are many different types of bicycles available on the market today, the comfort bicycle, which is used by many recreational bike riders, the road bike, which is for people who enjoy pedalling along the tarmac, a trail bike or light duty mountain bike, recumbent bikes and heavy duty mountain bikes. No matter which type of bike, or biking interests you biking is a great way to increased stamina, improved cardiovascular strength and all around better fitness.
If you want o ride along roads or other smooth flat surfaces then road bikes are great. The wheels on road bikes are much thinner than they are on a mountain bike. The frame is less bulky too.
Recumbent bikes have become very popular for the middle aged and older riders. The relaxing position of the seat on a recumbent bike means that you will be comfortable whilst riding. And there is a softer seat for your bum. You will be sat with your feet in front of you like you are driving a car. Recumbent bikes are the fastest type of bicycle. Riding with your legs in front of you is a lot less effort than underneath pedals but a lot more force is used. Beginning recumbent riders will tell you it takes a while to develop what are called “recumbent muscles” but once you do you’ll never go back to an ordinary bicycle.
Mountain biking is a sport enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. You can rent mountain bikes from riding groups if you cannot afford the expensive models. Lighter duty mountain bikes are good for all types of biking. There are trials around the country for beginners, intermediates and experts. Mountain biking trails are rated somewhat like ski trails, the easiest is green, an intermediate is blue and difficult trails are pink. To reduce the risk of injury you should learn how to handle the bike and go slowly so that the damage done to your joints is minimal.
You should definitely bike no matter which style you choose. Biking is a great way to achieve an aerobic workout and burn calories at the same time. What makes it even better is that anyone can bike and the family can relax together.

Contrary to what we may have been used to in the past, getting the right kind of mountain bike for us needs a lot of careful thinking when it comes to details.
From some of the most important factors to think about before spending our money on a mountain bike, are the different Mountain Bike Sizes and which one will best fit us.
When choosing Mountain Bike Sizes, we also have to take into consideration several other factors such as the frame, saddle tilt, and saddle height and handlebar position, among many others.
Choosing A Mountain Bike
There are various Mountain Bike Sizes that are just the right proportion to our heights. Generally, the extra small size at fourteen to fifteen inches, the small size is at sixteen to seventeen inches, medium at 18-19 inches, large at twenty to twenty-one inches, and extra large at twenty-two to twenty-three inches.
From these sizes, we can pick out the right one that most likely ideal to our own size and body posture.
The saddle height and tilt are another consideration that comes with Mountain Bike Sizes. Perhaps we are used to tilting the saddle to make it easier for us when we sit but tilting it means that this is not the right saddle for us, you can browse around the internet to find out more about Saddle Sizes.
By getting one that will allow us to sit at a level height, we will be more comfortable in riding the bike especially for long jurney.
As for the saddle height, this is often adjustable in mountain bikes so this shouldn’t be a problem.
The handlebar position and how wide it is are also big factors that come with different Mountain Bike Sizes. Having one that is too wide for our arm’s reach will render it uncomfortable once we have been riding it for awhile.
For the handlebar position, getting one that is more forward will allow us to ride with more powerful force.
Getting One Online
To help us get a better idea of what type of Mountain Bike Sizes we can get; we can check the internet for further information.
There are several sites that are designed specifically for mountain bike aficionados which can give us more tips on selecting the right kind of mountain bike and help us determine which one will best fit us.
While riding a mountain bike may be something that we love to do, if we get the wrong one, we might just lose interest and not willing to ride one again. This is why it is of utmost importance that we consider all specifics first that go into each mountain bike before making decision to get one.

A lot of people out there have chosen to do a bit of excercise as their resolution to take in New Year for 2010. However what is the best form of exercise and why?
Gym
The gym can be a great place to go to not only to exercise but for help on exactly what you need to do so lose that weight or work on those muscles. There are always people around the gym that you can approach for help on deciding what you should do. There is of course a very big problem when it comes going to the gym and it is the cost, on top of this unless you are going with friends or have a very good music collection on the Pod you are going to be very bored. Although many gyms are affordable it is also true to say that the decent ones aren't cheap which means you may have to make sacrifices.
Running
Running can be a cheap and affordable way to get excercise. I would advise going out in the early mornings or just as the sun is setting to get the benefit of the cool weather. This is something that will help you out a lot as it settles the body gradually. Many people do not like running and this is down to the fact that they are doing it in public and feel uncomfortable.
Cycling
Cycling is another major form of excercise and so many people are taking it up every single year. This is only going to grow further as people become more aware of the environment and the C02 omissions that cars let out. The only problem is that once again it can be costly. Look around for the best Zipp Wheels and Cycling Shoes as well as looking for the best bike like a Trek Madone.
There are so many other options out there to choose from such as weight lifting at home, swimming and you could even use the Wii. One of the best things to do is just go with what you think is best for you.

Cycling
Just as the invention of the bicycle itself is somewhat unclear, so is the history of bikes that fold. One reason is that the definition of “folding” is somewhat debatable. Many references in history refer to “folding” bikes, which were actually bicycles that one could disassemble, in other to transport them. Furthermore, several inventors in various countries claimed to be the creator of the cycle that collapses. Still, one of the strongest arguments for such bicycles’ invention is for Michael B. Ryan. The American received a patent for his invention, in 1894.
But that was over a century ago. Speaking of 100, today over 100 producers of the folding bike exist. This popularity of this type of bicycle has recently skyrocketed, primarily due to the increased use of transportation of the multi-modal variety. Such transportation has become particularly popular in certain regions of the United States, as well as in Europe and Asia.
The cycling jersey is fashioned using prominent colors from the cycling event, like the yellow jersey from the Tour de France, or from the cyclist corporate sponsor, like the famous teal Bianchi racing team. The jersey is longer in the back than in the front and fits snuggly to offer air resistance. It is made from quick-drying, lightweight, polyester material. In addition, pockets have been placed on the back of the jersey for easy access.
The cycling shorts are often referred to as bike shorts. The padded portion of the shorts is called the chamois. Certain shorts are referred to as bib shorts. These shorts actually have suspender like shoulder straps that help hold them in place. Most people wear cycling shorts without underwear, so some shorts are treated with an anti-bacterial matter and others with a moisturizing lotion to help reduce chaffing. In either case, the shorts themselves are traditionally made from a spandex material.
Another benefit of such cycles is that they discourage thieves. That’s because such bicycles are basically thief-proof. Bicycle theft remains an enormous problem in today’s world, and particularly in large cities throughout the world. The last problem you want to experience after purchasing a new bicycle is worrying whether someone will steal it.
Still another reason why today’s folding bike is particularly popular is that it’s much more compact than earlier models. That means that you can store them easily in areas where you have limited space. This is particularly a welcome benefit if you live in an apartment, where storing all your “stuff” can be quite challenging.
Finally, tires tend to last for roughly 1,000-2,000 miles. This is based on various factors, such as your riding method, your weight, and the location of the tire (front or back). Tires are crucial for cycling, so you may need to upgrade them if their design or sizing is wrong for the primary type of riding that you do.
When shopping for bicycles, you should definitely consider trek bikes. For over 30 years, they’ve been producing some of the top cycles in the industry. You can find the perfect bike for whichever type of cycling you do. Who knows? Perhaps you could be the next Lance Armstrong!

Buying a mountain bike can be time consuming and stressful as there are so many features that you need to think about. Take a look at these tips to help you when you are deciding on which mountain bike to buy.
Determining your price
To help you keep your spending under control, you should figure out what your price range is and how much you’re willing to pay for a new bike. Try to avoid the massive stores with chains across the country. You should instead support your local bike shop and get a much better bike and much better service. If you want alternative ways to pay, enquire after MTB finance which will help you dilute the immediate cost.
Finding your style
All mountain bikes are designed with several different riding styles and terrain types in mind. If you prefer one type of riding over the rest, pick a bike with this purpose. Smooth riding, cross country racing, mountain cruising, or lift accessed downhill is something you need to figure out. Do not let the sales staff pressure you into a bike that does not fit your riding style.
Sales and seasons
What you will pay for a mountain bike changes from month to month during the year. Spring through summer is the main buying season. If you are not desperate for a new bike in the summer, wait until autumn or winter and you could save yourself two, maybe three hundred pounds. Be cheeky and ask for a discount if you are also buying biking accessories.
Finding a good dealer
Finding a good bike dealer is more important than finding the best price. If they try to sell you a bike because it is expensive rather than it suiting you properly, find another seller. A great dealer will have a clean repair shop and give you the impression that you can really trust them.
Doing the research
If you want to know how reliable a bike is or what other riders think of a certain model, do some research and read rider reviews. You should always look at what other owners and reviews think about a bike before you make that final purchase.

- Tennis – Americans have always played very good tennis, coming to Wimbledon and winning many trophies.
- Skateboarding – America really started this up as a sport, now it is worldwide.
- Surfing – Was really brought to the world by America.
- Ice Skating – This is taken very seriously over the world, and in America.
- Boxing – What a money grabber, unfortunately it doesn’t happen enough around the year.
- Soccer – Needs more work, but this sport is beginning to grow, the Americans just need a little shove.
- Archery – this may not be a big team game, but the Americans do very well at the World Olympics.
- Volleyball – Now I am not entirely sure who invented Women’s Volleyball but i would like to shake their hand.
- Cycling – A very tough sport, especially in competition with nations, but America sticks to its usual greatness.
- Track and Field – The Americans are best known at the Olympics for this event.
- Horse Racing – Will be a great sport for all, and could actually come higher in this list.
- Rock Climbing – This hasn’t lifted as much as other Sports, but is still popular.
- Extreme Sports – These are the sports you have a high chance of being killed in.

The technology behind Giant mountain bikes make them one of the best brands in the world. World class competitions, training and leisure riding all make use of Giant bikes with the world leaders in the sport choosing Giant as their bike providers. However Giant design bikes for the most amateur of bikers as well as world class experts. Their range of kids bikes suit every level of ability.
There are two ranges of children’s bikes made by the brand. One range is designed for little children who have never ridden before. For children that have never ridden a bike before, there is a range for them. The second are for the more experienced young riders who use their bike for fun and freedom. Let’s take a look at both.
First Bike
First time riders can choose from three bikes depending on how big/old they are. Safety and fun are combined in the L’il Giant which is a tricycle in loads of colours. balance is aided with the training wheels and parents can keep some control over the bike with the back pole. The PUDD’N range comes in junior and normal size and are designed for little girls. There is a cute basket on the front, 16” wheels and removable training wheels on the original size bike. The smaller junior size features stabilisers and smaller 12” wheels. The last model in its first time rider range is Animator. Animator is like the PUDD’N range but in more boyish colours and no basket. There is a junior and original sized version available in the Animator range.
Sport Bikes
Once a child has gained more experience on their bike they can move onto the range for older children which consists of the MTX and taffy range. The MTX comes in 125 and 225 versions with the former riding on 20” wheels and having 6 speed gears. 24” wheels and 18 speed gears are used on the 225. The frame on both bikes is made from Alux aluminium technology and feature a suspension fork. The Taffy is similar to the MTX but with girl riders in mind throughout the design. The 125 has smaller wheels and fewer gears than the 225.
Your riding performance will increase with the quality of Giant mountain Bikes. You will like your child using a bike because it keeps them fit and they will have so much fun on them.

For those of you who don’t know CV (cardio vascular) fitness refers to the ability of the heart and lungs to provide the body with enough nutrients (mainly oxygen) for it to function during activity and remove waste products such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid also. The more efficient and well trained the CV system is, the greater the intensity or duration of exercise can be. Sports like sprinting and discus do not work the CV system very much at all, as muscles do not use oxygen in fast powerful events. But there are sports that work the CV system more than others. Below we look at three of the best sports for developing CV fitness.
Skiing. The variety of this sport known as cross-country skiing is actually the most demanding off all sports on the CV system. This is because competitive events usually take place over very long distances and skiers encounter lots of different inclines to conquer. On top of this, there isn’t a muscle in the body that is not required during the action of cross country skiing, meaning that the CV system needs to work overtime to provide them all with fuel. So if you’re looking to build your CV system, switch your snowboards for skis next time you’re on the slopes.
Cycling. Riding a bike, especially in competitive road racing, can cause the heart and lungs to work overtime as they attempt to feed the large leg muscles. The 7 time Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong is testament to that, having one of the highest VO2 max scores of any athlete. VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen that can be delivered and used by muscles in one minute. Based on that evidence, if you’re thinking about getting rid of your old cycling machine or second hand bikes, you might want to think again.
Kayaking. Although kayaking does not use the lower body as much as other sports do, it still punishes the heart and lungs more than most. This is because during middle to long distance races, the upper body and torso work so hard that incredible amounts of oxygen are required to keep going and muscle waste products are also produced in bucket loads. For second hand kayaks and extreme sports equipment check out EST.

Sunglasses are widely used by almost every age. Although the sunglasses have another useful advantage not just being fashionable… What are the cycling sunglasses?
Sunlight, wind, dirt and insects, all these become real problems when you have to ride the bike at high speeds. Cycling sunglasses should thus fulfill several protective functions, allowing the biker to clearly see the way and feel comfortable at the same time. Besides the possibility of foreign bodies entering the eyes, the highest risk you expose yourself to, when riding without sunglasses, is eye damage because of ultraviolet and infrared radiations. Wearing the right shades makes the difference between amateurs and professionals. Here are some suggestions on how to choose cycling sunglasses for prolonged outdoor use, although the list will be far from complete.
Finding the right pair of cycling sunglasses is not easy. Brand awareness is what makes many users choose wisely, but many consumers are disappointed when their favorite style gets out of stock and is no longer produced. fit well on the face, and this applies to wraparounds in particular. Such designs will keep dirt, pollutants and sun rays away from your eyes. Check the frames of the cycling sunglasses for air holes, because wraparounds could get foggy because of moisture trapped inside.
Interchangeable lenses is the most advanced solution for cycling sunglasses. Lens changes come with weather variations as the eyes need different eyewear for overcast and sunny days. Cycling sunglasses with gray lenses work great for almost all types of weather. However, try yellow lenses when it’s foggy and amber ones when you have to pay more attention to the terrain variations. Interchangeable cycling sunglasses definitely seem like the perfect choice for one who is going to spend a lot of time on the bike, and even if they are a bit more costly, they are worth every cent.
Depending on individual needs, cycling sunglasses could be made on prescription. The sight accuracy or integrity may have a lot to suffer without the right eye correction, therefore, never neglect such conditions when choosing sun shades. The prescription lenses could be attached or adjusted behind the standard cycling ones by means of a special mechanism. As for the average price, the best cycling sunglasses cost between 0 and 0, but some good items could be purchased for less than that. Sports stores often have sales and promotions and you can get some serious discounts too, which should make quality eyewear more accessible to the average user.

Whether you are just getting inquisitive about the game of cycling or have been a keen cycle rider for a bit it’s important that you are supplied with the proper cycling clothing. Cycling clothing won’t only help by keeping you safe and comfy during your cycle ride but as well keep you looking fashionable and at the head of your game. When it comes to cycling clothing, there are some pieces especially which are thought to be as the fundamentals and which any bike rider, noob to complicated, should have in their wardrobe. Initially you could be deterred as you might be worried by the proven fact that you are not in a position to afford the custom cycling jerseys and pro gear that some riders can, but you’ve got to know this isn’t going to have any effect on your performance. While you are selecting the proper pieces, you’ll be able to find just as top quality cycling clothing apart from a more cost effective cost. Cycling jackets and cycling jerseys are truly one of the first things you need to be purchasing.
They may keep the sun from burning your arms when riding in the day and keep you warm during cooler weather. You wish to try to discover a light-weight water-resistant jacket, and when you are out on the marketplace for your jacket you need to look for a cycling cap, bike leg warmers or perhaps some knee heaters to keep you on the trails even if the weather won’t be the nicest.
Helmet Another piece of cycling clothing that is vital is the helmet. It is critical that you wear a helmet when cycling, and you take some time to select the right one. Remember that you only wish to buy helmets that are approved by the acceptable authorities.
You also wish to try on different helmets until you find one that fits your head comfortably. It shouldn’t be too tight or too loose, and should touch the crown, sides, front and back of your head. Also remember that if at any point your helmet ever suffers any damage, the best concept is to just go out and buy a new one instead of trying to fix the one that you have. Helmets are cheap enough this isn’t going to put you out much and it will make sure that you are safe and secure while cycling. The worst mistake that some folk make is assuming that because cycling is a low impact sport that there’s no need to have the right cycling clothing and gear. This is totally wrong, and you can suffer major harm if you aren’t wearing your helmet and other shielding gear.
