Giant Mountain Bikes For Kids

Posted by Art on Oct 8, 2009 in Biking

The technology behind Giant mountain bikes make them one of the best brands in the world. World class competitions, training and leisure riding all make use of Giant bikes with the world leaders in the sport choosing Giant as their bike providers. However Giant design bikes for the most amateur of bikers as well as world class experts. Their range of kids bikes suit every level of ability.

There are two ranges of children’s bikes made by the brand. One range is designed for little children who have never ridden before. For children that have never ridden a bike before, there is a range for them. The second are for the more experienced young riders who use their bike for fun and freedom. Let’s take a look at both.

First Bike
First time riders can choose from three bikes depending on how big/old they are. Safety and fun are combined in the L’il Giant which is a tricycle in loads of colours. balance is aided with the training wheels and parents can keep some control over the bike with the back pole. The PUDD’N range comes in junior and normal size and are designed for little girls. There is a cute basket on the front, 16” wheels and removable training wheels on the original size bike. The smaller junior size features stabilisers and smaller 12” wheels. The last model in its first time rider range is Animator. Animator is like the PUDD’N range but in more boyish colours and no basket. There is a junior and original sized version available in the Animator range.

Sport Bikes
Once a child has gained more experience on their bike they can move onto the range for older children which consists of the MTX and taffy range. The MTX comes in 125 and 225 versions with the former riding on 20” wheels and having 6 speed gears. 24” wheels and 18 speed gears are used on the 225. The frame on both bikes is made from Alux aluminium technology and feature a suspension fork. The Taffy is similar to the MTX but with girl riders in mind throughout the design. The 125 has smaller wheels and fewer gears than the 225.

Your riding performance will increase with the quality of Giant mountain Bikes. You will like your child using a bike because it keeps them fit and they will have so much fun on them.

Outside Over In

Posted by Art on Jul 1, 2009 in Biking

The number of people heading outside in their leisure time has unfortunately been reducing for the last 20 years. A lot of children and adults alike would prefer to spend their hours inside watching television, increasing their risk of obesity and heart disease. One of the most effective ways of getting to enjoy the outdoors again and understanding how good it can make you feel, is sport. Below are three examples of sports that use nature to its most and will certainly get your heart pumping?

Cycling
. They say you never forget how to ride a bike…so what is stopping you getting on one now. You can pick up great second hand bikes now for next to nothing and you can look up good cycle routes on the internet very easily. On top of this, with biking you can take it as easy or as vigorously as you like so you don’t have to worry if you’re unfit at the moment or are carrying an injury

Kayaking
. If solid ground is a little too mundane for you then one brilliant water-based sport you might like to try is kayaking. Like mountain bikes there are plenty of fine used kayaks on the market and all you need other than that is an oar and a life jacket. It is advisable to go out with a professional first so that you can learn the ropes but once you’ve got it there will be no stopping you.

Surfing. If you’ve managed to stay dry in the kayak and fancy getting your hair wet then why not find some friends, grab a bunch of surfboards and head down to the beach. Don’t try to stand up straight away, learn by catching the waves lying down first and then slowly work your way to vertical as you get better. Remember to take your car keys out of your pocket first however, as it could be a long walk home otherwise

5.
Energy bar or energy gel.

No real cyclist could really get anywhere without one of these. This really is only in the top five as it is so vital for cyclists to own one.The range of helmets out on the market is huge and some are even made to suite different weather climates.

Riding a bicycle could help charity as well as yourself

Posted by Art on May 22, 2009 in Biking

Many people out there (including me) would love to lose a bit of weight ready for those summer holidays. As well as this, if you are like me then I am sure when summer arrives you certainly do not want to be seen as a bit of a pale bloater in swimming shorts. It would be nice to at least get rid of the weight part of the sentence and get rid of the pale skin when I am on holiday. So why not treat yourself to one of those bright shiny racing bikes.

The great thing is riding a bike is a great way to keep fit and even if you do feel great about yourself then you could still use it to tone up pretty much every muscle in the body. I for one live near the South Downs so a bike like this is perfect for me but even if you do not want to compete then there are so many ways you could enjoy a bike like this.

You could take part in various charity events that not only benefit the charity in question but also help yourself to feel good in your fitness and in what you are doing. If you struggle to get out there and meet new people then getting ones of these bikes could seriously improve that. You could be pleasantly surprised on how meeting other people with the same interests as you could give you the confidence boost you may or may not need.
Of course once you have one of these fantastic bikes you are customise it in anyway you want ranging from bike pedals all the way too zipp wheels.

As well as all of this there is no limit on how you can alter the bike so you can have it in exactly the way you want it too peform.

So why not treat yourself this month to a brand new racing bike, their fast, trendy and a lot of fun if you really give it a go.

What brand has the best downhill mountain bikes?

Posted by Jeff on Dec 7, 2008 in Bike Trails
colorado bike trails
mike asked:

I’ve done some downhill mountain biking on some trails in Colorado and absolutely love it. I live in Indiana though. I want to get into the sport more and was wondering what would be a good bike to buy. Or what a good brand would be to check out, what brands to stay away from?
